Learning English Tip – Full Immersion

This is a Learning English Tip from Andrea Giordano with ESL Basics. Today’s tip focuses on immersing yourself in the culture of the language you are learning.

This is Andrea Giordano with a tip for learning English.

I once had a friend, who was learning Italian, and so what he did one day was; he created an entire day where he only did Italian things. He only spoke Italian. He watched Italian movies. He ate Italian food. He even decorated his house in Italian themed decorations.

You can do this yourself! If you’re learning English, you can wake up in the morning and only eat food you would find in, say, Great Britain, or in America. Then you can watch movies in English. You can chat with people in English, but the only requirement is, that you only do English themed things all day.

What it does is, even if you’re not living in America, or in England, or in Australia, you feel like you are. So you feel like you’re immersed in the culture. It’s a great way to force yourself to speak English and also create a culture that goes with the language.
