Scrabble Vowel Words
Have you ever played Scrabble, Bananagrams, UpWords, or Words with Friends? These word games are all based on your ability to form words with the letter tiles that are given to you. I have heard stories before of people who used these games to help them learn new English vocabulary. Word games like these cause you to stretch your current knowledge of English. They might be helpful for you too!
A problem you may run into when playing Words with Friends or Scrabble is the unfortunate issue of having too many vowels. What do you do when you have all vowels while playing Scrabble or Words with Friends? Research vowel-only words, of course!
After some searching, I found several vowel-only words (with definitions) that you could use while playing Scrabble or Words with Friends:
- AA – Lava having a rough surface.
- AE – one (mostly used by Scots)
- AI – a sloth
- EAU – water
- EUOUAE – amen
- OI – a sharp way of getting someone’s attention
- OO – one, a Hawaiian bird
- OU – a man, bloke, or chap
