Audio Transcript of this Free English Lesson:

Some second language learners are insecure about how to end a conversation with a native English speaker. Today I want to give you a few things that you can say to end a conversation.

These are called pre-closing because it’s not the final thing that you say, so, it’s before the closing.

I will give you 6 pre-closings for you to use to help end a conversation.

Number 1, “I’ve got to be going.”

Number 2, “It’s been fun.”

Number 3, “It was nice to see you.”

Number 4, “Well it’s getting late.”

Number 5, “I’ve got to run.”

And number 6, “Well I’d better be going.”

Those 6 pre-closings can help you end a conversation with a native English speaker.

I’m Andrea for this “Audio Minute” and this is ESL Basics.
