You teach the world.

The minds that sit in your classroom day after day are future thought leaders, world shapers, mothers and fathers. They come to you for English, which is currency in this modern age. And you teach them how to spend it liberally and wisely.

In the torrent of self-doubt and second guessing that comes with educating young people, we must never forget the gravity of the work we do. It is selfless work, inspired work, revolutionary work. Passive verbs and independent clauses are bridges to other worlds where the God-created ones we teach are being formed into something more fully alive.

In the past two years, we have heard voices calling out from country after country, calling for change and hope and freedom. And often, these voices are calling out to us in English. English that someone taught them. English that they once struggled and muddled through. English that is now currency for real change. You teach the world and you give them a voice.
